Spacing file

The fixed Spacing file stores reusable numeric tokens for gaps, padding, layout, and related Component styles.

  • Property: Path · Current behavior: design-system/spacing

  • Property: Items · Current behavior: Size tokens and Sections

  • Property: Props · Current behavior: name, numeric size, note

  • Property: Theme/layer support · Current behavior: none

  • Property: MCP · Current behavior: shared operations plus spacing add/update

  • Property: Export · Current behavior: nested helper names preserving Sections

Workflow and limits

Add a Size or Section, edit the token in Props, and reference it from supported spacing fields. Use a small named scale instead of many near-duplicate values. Shared organization, copy/cut/paste, and delete actions apply.

MCP uses design-system-get, shared section/delete tools, and spacing-file-add-size/update-size. Changes persist/synchronize and are undoable. Selection/scroll is view state. Verify every consumer before deleting or substantially changing a widely used size.
