Videos file

The fixed Videos file stores hosted-video metadata and poster references, but no native canvas Video node currently consumes these tokens.

  • Property: Path · Current behavior: design-system/videos

  • Property: Source · Current behavior: external URL only; no project upload

  • Property: Poster · Current behavior: token from design-system/images

  • Property: Metadata · Current behavior: name, dimensions, MIME, duration as available

  • Property: Theme/layer support · Current behavior: none

  • Property: MCP · Current behavior: shared operations plus video add/update

Features and current boundary

Add a Video or Section, set its URL, choose a poster, and inspect supported metadata in Props. URL hosting is expected to provide byte-range support for reliable seeking.

The registry exists for reusable media metadata, but the current implementation explicitly has no canvas Video node. Do not document drag-and-drop or generated video playback yet.

MCP, Undo, and limits

Use shared design-system operations and videos-file-add-video/update-video. Registry changes persist and are undoable. Remote availability is controlled by the hosting origin and is not recovered through project undo. Poster IDs must remain valid.
